Volunteering with Gabriel’s Angels!

Raven visits the children at Discover U.

Gabriel’s Angels’ volunteer Pet Therapy teams and Helping Hands are the heart of our work! They help drive the mission as well as attend community events, providing a presence that generates awareness, funding and expansion of our programs. Child-friendly, predictable, and well-mannered pets become registered with their handlers through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs or Pet Partners and join Gabriel’s Angels in serving our mission. See Journey of a Volunteer link below.

The Helping Hand volunteer is matched with a therapy team on designated visits. Volunteers’ generosity with their time (one hour every week or every other week) are richly rewarded by the gratitude of the children they serve.

During pet therapy visits, volunteers spend time engaging children in animal behavior, pet care, grooming, safety, and relating animal needs and behaviors to the children’s needs and behaviors.

All volunteers are given tools, teaching aids, training and continued support in helping children achieve critical reading and social skills. If you are ready to become a pet therapy team or helping hand, then join us for an Information Session to get started.

We Need Your Help

We are in immediate need of more Pet Therapy teams and Helping Hand volunteers. Having more volunteers will help us reach children that are waiting for our powerful and life-changing Pet Therapy services throughout the state of Arizona. (Yes, we have a waiting list of schools and agencies!)

Would you consider sharing our great work within your network?
