    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Nonprofit Gabriel’s Angels Announces Youngest Member and Team Captain

Phoenix, AZ – September 27, 2018 – Gabriel’s Angels announces Team Gabriel’s Angels’ youngest member and Team Captain, Ryleigh Barnes, for at the 36th El Tour de Tucson on November 17, 2018.

Ryleigh first learned about Gabriel’s Angels and its cycling team at the 2016 El Tour when they saw the team party. Ryleigh, with her dad’s support, joined the 2017 Team Gabriel’s Angels and worked hard to exceed her fundraising goal to support the agency’s mission. On her way to the starting line, she had a tire go flat before the race. With the help of her dad, they rushed home to fix the tire and try again. However, once they returned to join the race, they had a second tire go flat, ending their participation for the day. Instead of giving up, Ryleigh insisted that they return to the race route the next day and they rode the tour route by themselves.

When asked why she wanted to be a part of Team Gabriel’s Angels, she said it came down to two things her: love for animals and helping people. Of course, getting to ride her bike and to raise money for charity was something really cool but earning money to help support Gabriel’s Angels’ Pet Therapy Teams to help at-risk kids makes the whole experience of being on Team Gabriel’s Angels even better.

Ryleigh is really excited to ride this year with Team Gabriel’s Angels and the Pet Therapy Team she is partnered with. Will you join Ryleigh for El Tour this year? Sign up for Team Gabriel’s Angels at http://gabrielsangels.org/events/eltour
